CONTEST SHORTS NOIR COMICS MARATHON AWARD

Presentation of the latest graphic novel by the author of Fortezza Volante, Ossario, and L’ignobile Shermann e Burn Baby Burn, published by Saldapress

In a nameless Italian city and in a future so near it looks like our present, the private investigation agency Hari is run by the gruff Nadia Malocchi with her daughters Jo, an angry housewife “proud to be fat”, and Dami, a transgender woman and former cop. When the Mafia reappears to threaten the state with plots that are thirty years old, as bombs go off and casualties rise, danger closes in on Hari Investigazioni and the two sisters try to convince their brother Kris – reclusive, depressed, but always the best at connecting the dots – to relent and join the firm. Maneuvering between bizarre attacks, personal crises, violent cops and the rough neighborhoods of a “city on the sea with no sea”, the Malocchis race against time to save themselves and those they love. And the price to pay may well be a truth that seemed unassailable.
