A winner to choose and a wide-ranging conversation about genre film

Seven filmmakers over six titles in the running for the Caligari Prize. The competition to come up with the year’s best Italian noir film is also an occasion to compare notes on the state of the art, genre films, stories to tell, and opportunities for getting films produced. A talk moderated by Maurizio Di Rienzo and Giulio Sangiorgio who, along with Nicole Bianchi and seventy film students and cinephiles, make up the sizeable and film-savvy jury for the award.
