  Tu sei il male

Roberto Costantini
Rome, July 11, 1982. The night of Italy's victory at the World Cup in Spain, Elisa Sordi, a young employee of a Vatican real estate company, disappears into thin air. The case is given to Michele Balistreri, a young police commissioner with a shady past. Arrogant and lazy, Balistreri makes light of the investigation, and only when Elisa's body is found on the banks of the Tiber does he throw himself into it headlong. But something goes awry and the the case is never solved. Rome, July 6, 2006. As the Italians beat the French in the World Cup in Germany, Elisa's mother Giovanna throws herself off her balcony. Commissioner Balistreri, now head of Special Section for Foreigners in Rome, is fighting his own demons with anti-depressants. The elderly woman's suicide feeds his guilt, compelling him to reopen the investigation. But he'll have to pay a higher price than even he imagined to finally render justice to Elisa Sordi after 24 years.
