| The novel takes place in one night in an imaginary town near Parma called Borgo delle Terme, and interweaves four seemingly unconnected stories that come together in the end. The characters are: Gianluca and Samantha, who are celebrating their bachelor and bachelorette parties on the eve of their wedding; the Barid brothers, one a good citizen, the other a drug pusher; Lazzaro, a student by day and a tormented painter by night; and the elderly Guglielmo and Benito, former Resistance fighters who are hiding a terrible secret. But a night that seems like any other will lead to an explosive series of events in the sleepy town. |
