“This is my first noir novel but elements of the thriller were already present in my other novels, albeit within existential circumstances. Setting the book in Paris came spontaneously, since the story begins with the last few months in the life of rock star Jim Morrison (who died in Paris on July, 3 1971) and other personalities buried in Père-Lachaise Cemetery.” August, 2001 a few days before 9/11. A young American painter living in Paris, Jacqueline Morceau, is preparing an exhibit of her work. But when a man kills himself before her eyes in the courtyard of Notre-Dame Cathedral, Jacqueline is accused of murder and runs from the law, holing up in an old house in the heart of the city that seems to hide chilling secrets. As detective Danielle Genesse comes after her, in her search for the disturbing truth Jacqueline encounters strange characters and uncovers a labyrinth connected to her past, as well as to the lives of Jim Morrison, Frederic Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Maria Callas, Julian the Apostate, Maria Walewska, Allan Kardec and Catherine de’ Medici.
