Dario returns to his hometown to work for Gustosa, the company from which he mysteriously ran away years ago. He is brought back in by his old friend Max, who has become successful in the meantime. After meeting his new (young) co-workers, Dario sees his old colleagues as well, with whom he had an intense relationship that now seems irreversibly deteriorated. A few days later, one of them is found gruesomely murdered. Terror spreads among the various employees, everyone begins to suspect everyone else. The investigation is headed by Vittone, an unmotivated and somewhat snobbish detective who entered the police force after trying to find work in the private sector, to no avail. Dario is one of the suspects, but a difficult relationship develops between him and the detective, which goes beyond that of investigated and investigator...
