This year’s jury, which will present the Black Lion and other awards, is made up of five multi-talented members that span the fields of music, literature, cinema and even law. Jury president James Sallis, a writer with a passion for the blues, a musician when he’s not publishing his bestselling novels, will find in Italian pop star Samuele Bersani a perfect companion – and perhaps even a jam session partner. There are two actresses: Melanie Linksey, the versatile performer who divides her talent between cinema and hit TV series, comedies and splatter films; and lawyer-turned-thespian Donatella Finocchiaro, who on the morning of December 10 will present one of her latest works, Niente di Personale, an episode directed by Ivano De Mattero of the series Crimini 2. And last but certainly not least, we have with us Jorge Guerricaechevarria, the screenwriter who has worked with Pedro Almodóvar and above all Álex de la Iglesia, and is behind this year’s biggest box office hit in Spain, Cell 211, directed by Daniel Monzón. We are certain they will have fun and if they argue over any of the films they can always solve things by listening to one of Bersani’s songs accompanied by Sallis or…speak to the lawyer. |
