The Jury unanimously decided to give the Best Film Award to Frozen River. The movie transcended the conventions of noir to bring us face to face with real people in profound relationship, created by an original, nuanced, genuine script and direction and thanks to the quality of performance of Melissa Leo, Misty Upham and Jacques Bruno.
