The selection of films, books, documentaries and television series that will make up the program of the next festival is already underway. In anticipation of the titles that will come from Cannes’ Marché du Film, the directors of the Noir festival are already at work seeking out, viewing and selecting the films and stars of next December. After Elmore Leonard (winner of the Raymond Chandler Award), Forest Whitaker (winner of our Audience Award and an Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in The Last King of Scotland), Moimir Jezek (creator of the image of our 16th edition), who will be this year’s top names be? New elements of the 17th edition include: the Noir Doc competition, for cinema verite, which will flank the international film competition; an event-happening devoted to this year’s theme; and the new season of the Scerbanenco Award, dedicated to Italian literature.
