Luca D’Andrea (Bolzano, 1979) worked as a temporary middle school teacher for ten years. A voracious reader since childhood, he made his debut as a novelist in 2009 with Wunderkind, a fantasy trilogy with dark undertones, using the pen name G. L. D’Andrea. In 2013 he was a writer on the docu-reality "Mountain Heroes"(Formasette/DMax), which followed the adventures of Alpine rescue teams, an experience on which he drew for his first thriller, The Mountain. It made a splash at the 2016 London Book Fair and was sold in over thirty countries before its publication in Italy by Einaudi/Stile Libero in June 2016. Cattleya has a TV series in the works based on the novel. D’Andrea’s second thriller, Lissy, has already been sold in numerous countries and is soon to be released in Germany.
