A criminal’s dead body laid flat out on the asphalt, two killers on the run through the streets of Paris, a heart-thumping chase scene with bullets whizzing past your ear, and then the trail suddenly runs dry. Followed by the macabre discovery that would make any CSI team’s day: the head of madame Saint-Nectaire, the owner of a construction company and an old acquaintance of Chief LeNormand, the stony-faced head of the Criminal Brigade. Madame was also the sister-in-law of Balthazar Rogeret who is running in the upcoming presidential elections, which spells big trouble, particularly for Inspector Mordenti, if he doesn’t crack the case swiftly - and discreetly.
