Fragili verità

It’s the summer of 2015, the hottest in the last 150 years. The sun pours into the air-conditioned frescoed rooms of the sumptuous mansion in Albaro, the toniest of Genoa’s neighborhoods. Every inch of this residence exudes wealth, success in life, and serenity, all except the eyes of two desperate and dazed parents who look to Bacci Pagano for answers. Their sixteen-year-old son Giovanni has disappeared. A difficult child, Giovanni, who grew up in the slums of Santiago di Cali, one of the poorest and most violent cities in Colombia. He grew up with drugs, crime and squalor: a devastating childhood that his adoptive parents hoped to erase from his mind. They failed. Now Giovanni appears to have become a victim of a fate that has erupted from his past to take him hostage.
