Traffickers follows a close knit family of drug dealers operating in in rural Pennsylvania. After one of their own is murdered, they will risk everything to find those responsible, even if it means losing everything in the process.
"The film is about family; it’s about love, greed, revenge and how those four things seem to go hand in hand when the chips are down. I spent most of my childhood around Bucks County, Pennsylvania, a small suburb less than fifty miles north of Philadelphia. The one thing that was hard to ignore about Bucks County was its extensive drug culture. What was really striking about this culture was that it wasn’t in a city; it wasn’t in a crime-ridden area. It was in what most would consider the perfect American dream type of town. Being around that made me want to tell a story grounded solely in a place like Bucks County. The cinematographer, Eric Schaeffer and I decided to shoot this film much like a documentary. Traffickers needed to be shown as gritty and realistic as possible. I wanted to show these characters in a light that isn’t glamorizing anything." [Sean Roberts]
